Praia da Almagreira is a great place to surf if you want to escape the crowds of Peniche. It’s located 2 km north of Baleal and the surf spots Prainha and Lagide. This isolated, pristine beach offers fun and consistent waves for most levels of surfers. Almagreira delivers quality waves with most swells, as long as there is some south in the wind direction. You can find lefts and rights here, but the lefts are usually better and longer.

You mostly surf over sand, but watch out for some odd rocks with lower tide and for the currents with bigger swells.
